Testimonials

As always, your team consistently exceeds my expectations. Thank you very much for jumping through another hoop to get the SPMN Training page up and operational in record time. Great job!

Virginia Business Observer Magazine Names Rick Richter One of Hampton Roads' Rising Stars - Top Forty People Under 40

OK, I'm blushing. I know it's not like being in Fortune, Wired, or being selected as Time's Person of the Year (Amazon.com's Jeff Bezos was selected for 1999). But it is nice to get the nod as one of the young bucks doing good in the U.S.'s 28th largest metropolitan area (that's called Hampton Roads for you out-of-town folks).

For those curious to see what was written in the the November 29th issue, you can read it here.

As always, let me know what you think -- about anything and everything WIRED to the Web. Send all your rants and raves to rick@webmarketeer.com

Thanks,
Rick

Break Out the Dom: "Our" Band Gets Signed, We Get a Community Award, and We Pick Up Some More Clients

Raise your flutes up high to toast our client, RIP DIZZY, for getting signed earlier this month to Gotham Records. I wonder if their Web site had anything to do with the record deal? Nah, couldn't be.

WebMarketeer Received 1999 Community Service Award We are all very proud at WebMarketeer to have recently received the National Multiple Sclerosis' Hampton Roads Chapter 1999 Community Service Award for developing and maintaining the fightms.com Web site , which helped the Chapter raise close to $300,000 for their MS 150 Bike Tour -- $100,000 over their goal and an increase of over 55% from money-raised in 1998.

We managed to stop shaking everyone's hand long enough to:

  • Design YesHamptonRoads.com for the Hampton Roads Technology Council showcasing technology here in Hampton Roads. And to give Hampton Roads that technology "edge" we deployed FLASH on the frontpage.

  • Put up a new eCommerce Web site with hundreds of catalog items for sale for Whitley's Peanut Factory

  • Design the new corporate Web site for The Penrod Company, one of the largest wood distributors in United States

  • Design the site for a political group hoping to rally voters in approving Light Rail Transportation in Hampton Roads

  • Design the site for another up-and-coming band, Rumble Fish, to include encoding their CD's in MP3, as well as setting up their discussion area and secure eCommerce store. Interesting small FLASH piece and auto-updating seven day band schedule on the frontpage. Management tools to update and modify their schedule.

  • Design a recruiting and career Web site for CMC Technical. Full backend integration and management toolset that allows CMC Technical to post open positions whenever they wanted. Front-end search engine developed to allow job seekers the capability to search for jobs by multiple regions and job types.

  • Design corporate Web site for the United States division of DESMI.

Look for an interesting announcement towards the end of this month (no, we're not filing for an IPO) and also look for new Web sites in the coming weeks for NuLASER, Slender Weigh International (just in time for those New Year resolutions), Greenwich Kitchen Center, and Creative Structures.

Big welcome to some of our new clients: Jones Institute (EVMS), Classic Air Care, the Hollowbodies, and Davis Corner Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Burgers, and Buildings, and Bands, Oh My!

For a burger today, I will gladly build you a Web site next Tuesday. Thought that's what you say when you build a Web site for Alabama's first fast-food restaurant chain. Although Jack's Family Restaurants offered to pay us in all the Grilled Mushroom Swiss Burgers and french fries we could eat, we don't get out to Alabama that much to take that offer for granted. But we did manage to build a mouth-watering Web site showcasing their food menu, specials, printable coupons, and all 64 of their restaurant locations. We also trimmed down their Web site address from jacksfamilyrestuarants.com to something that would not only fit on a wet-nap, but also be somewhat discreet in it's message - eatatjacks.com. OK, so we're not discreet.

We finally managed to leap tall buildings and complete the Web site for one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the state of Virginia. Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate handles the management of close to 5,000,000 square feet of commercial property for clients, with over $40 million in annual billings. So if you have a building to lease or sell, want to buy Norfolk's Waterside Marketplace, or just want to meet all those million-dollar salespeople, visit harveylindsay.com.

And keep your eyes, and ears, open for the next hot band to charge the stage and get signed by a major label. We are hard at work on putting Rumble Fish on the Web, right before the release of their second CD, Fun with Plastic. This scores our fourth hot Virginia band as a client. Falstaff (currently broken up, but playing select gigs), Lucky Town, Rip Dizzy, and now Rumble Fish. And we are making room on our office walls to hang up some Gold/ Platinum Records. Hint, hint you Fender-toting guys.

The Summer Rally is Upon Us.

No, we are not talking about all that money you are losing on EBAY, AMZN, CMGI, and INKT. We're talking up the Summer Rally right here on WebMarketeer Street. Our stock is on the rise and we are burning up the charts through our distribution of new clients covering a huge array of business industries: business services, software, music, auto, real estate, medical, manufacturing, and retail/ e-tail sales.

Can't believe the market? Check the indicators:

Alright, enough E*Trade/ Fool Bros./ Kramer/ CNBC gibberish.

Keep your eyes open for another economic development Web site developed by us mouse clickers in the very near future. The Web site is being created for the Hampton Roads Technology Council and will focus on the technology drivers and catalysts we have in Hampton Roads.

And if we haven't talked to you in a while, you might not know that we recently moved into a new, larger office at the following address in the Lynnhaven business area:
